In this region, the two biggest players, Young Living and doterra, sell over $3 billion worth of essential oils each year. So, as a follow-up to my previous post, I decided to do a doTERRA vs Young Living MLM review for members. I will give you all the information you need to decide which one to choose. Why I Won’t Be Earning The Big Bucks By Selling Essential Oils
Well, before we begin, let’s look at some information about multi-level-marketing (MLM) programs. Once you sign up, invite everyone you know to the party. From there, you can convince their friends to not only buy your products, but to pester everyone they know (Amway, Tupperware, Mary Kay, Arbonne, and Really Oil).

Doterra was founded in 2008 and as of 2016 has over 3,000,000 ‘interested advocates’ and clients. Their world headquarters are located in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and the company has more than 120,000 employees worldwide.
Members do not receive commissions on their sales or the people they refer to the company.
Rankings and commissions are calculated by measuring PV (personal domain) and OV (operational domain) – the total PV from everything in your stream. So, the more products they all sell, the more you earn in base commissions and the more points you earn in referrals.
Young Living Essential Oils A Scam?
To earn commission, you need to sell at least 50PV (as an entry level consultant) and 100PV (manager level and above) to qualify for your commissions. There are also higher levels of funding depending on how many people you have as part of your funnel – ie. How many of you and your subordinates have signed up and agreed to become active life advocates?
Sales requirements to fund a PV product vary from product to product (i.e. products marked with the PV symbol) but as a general rule of thumb 1 PV should be earned for every USD $1 earned.
As we mentioned above. Commission rates vary depending on the level and number of sales made on your channel. When you sign someone up for the Life Advocate program, you get access to a quick start bonus that pays you 20% commission on every sale for the first 60 days. After that, this is added to your bottom line to include the following rates:

Once you set up your downline referrals, you can also add instant commissions based on their first level of referrals in the first 60 days. Level 2 down (your referral) earns you 10% of all sales in the first 60 days before entering your pool level and level 3 (your referrer) earns you 5%.
