The Best Sherwin Williams Gray Paint Colors In 2021

✔️Sherwin Williams Repose Gray 7015: We chose this for our master bedroom and found it to be a very cool dark gray with deep blue tones. It goes well with black/white, navy and light gray accents.

✔️Sherwin Williams Dovetail 7018: Probably our favorite, our dining room choice… A very rich, warm gray that pairs perfectly with copper, blue/orange and any stained wood floor.

✔️ Sherwin Williams Crushed Ice 7647: In our family room it looked blue. Although our Master bath received much less light, it was a true light gray.

✔️Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray HC-173: For our first floor, choosing a gray color seemed impossible. Everything came out as lavender or light blue (thanks to the northern lights). So we went with light gray (grey + beige) and we are very happy with it. Sometimes light gray, sometimes yellow. It is nice and warm in the space we are often in. Think of it as Revere Pewter’s cousin, with a dark brown color.

How To Choose The Right Paint Color For Your Home’s Interior

I would say Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray or Repose Gray is the leading gray paint color because it is neutral, not too warm and not too cool in most cases.

In fact, it depends on many factors, including what the other elements of the room are, how much light the space receives, and the direction of the sun’s rays. If you are looking for the best white paint colors, read on.

But we’ll take care of that and leave Sherwin Williams list of great gray paint colors. It depends on whether you like cool or warm colors and which color goes best with the element you have.

How To Pick The Right Grey Paint

First, tone plays a big part in this. We use undertones to talk about a color compared to another finish. It is cooler/warmer or cleaner/mudder than the comparison.

How To Choose The Right White Paint For Your Home

Let me give you an example. SW Light French Gray is cooler and cleaner (cleaner) than SW Agreeable Gray (see chart below).

In comparison, SW Agreeable Gray is warmer and more yellow than French Light Grey. SW Passive Gray, on the other hand, is a cooler blue than the other two grays compared to Agreeable Grey.

The easiest way to determine the color of a color is to compare it to white and the base color.

After pairing it with blue, red or yellow, you’ll be able to choose exactly which color it leans towards.

Getting Gray Right — Bode

Before you start painting an entire room with a color from this list, there are a few things to consider and you should prepare a large sample before choosing a color.

Before buying paint, consider the existing elements of the space you are painting. Once you take them into account, you can reduce the gray to the color that suits you best.

You want the wall color to complement the floor, decor, furniture and hardware in the room. If any of these look bad on a gray wall, the whole room disappears.

Ultimately, the most important factor to consider when painting a gray room (or any room) in your home is how you want to heat the space. Gray and white walls, floors and furniture can quickly make a space feel cold.

Colors That Go With Grey

Consider incorporating natural elements into your design to keep it natural and warm, not cold. Wicker baskets, rugs, rattan side tables, woven lampshades and the occasional colorful chair add an inviting, gray but not cold feel to the room.
