Monaco may be considered the smallest country in the world, but it is a destination with a lot to offer and we are sure you will be interested! We wish you a luxurious vacation! One of the countries I visited on my 2021 Europe trip was Monaco. Monaco is a sovereign country and the second smallest country in the world. It borders France, Italy and the Mediterranean Sea. Although it borders the Mediterranean Sea, Larvotto Beach is the only public beach available. Larvotto beach is an artificial beach and is very popular with locals and tourists. The beach covers 52 acres with mostly small river stones and only one side of sand.

Monaco is famous as a mecca for the rich and famous because it offers lavish entertainment that not everyone can afford. According to the 2021 census, the population is less than 39,000, and according to Business Insider’s magazine, 32% of the population are millionaires. It stood out from the type of vehicle on the road.

There was heavy traffic in the morning and evening. The entrance was busy and the exit was the worst. We drove from Barcelona, Spain to Monaco in a rented Twingo. If you’ve never heard of the Twingo, it’s comparable in size to a Fiat 500. So we drove the Princesse Grace luxury road side by side with Twingos, Bugattis, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Bentleys.

Millionaires live in Monaco, but there are not many houses that have large plots. Most were apartments or townhouses, with single-family homes perched on top of the cliffs. We didn’t even see poor neighborhoods. They estimate that poverty is 0%. We noticed that there is a lot of construction going on despite the high density of houses.

Monaco is mostly famous for its casinos, especially the Casino de Monte Carlo. Although there are 4 casinos, residents are prohibited from using them. Tourists and expats visiting Monaco frequent the casinos. For those who enjoy spending money on luxuries, Monaco is home to top brands and high-end stores such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and more. Jardins de la Petite Afrique is located across the square from Casino Monte Carlo, Café Casino Paris and Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo. Beautiful garden beautifully landscaped with flowering plants, trees and a few water features.

We stayed at the Aparthotel Adagio Monaco Palais Josephine, on the French border and about a 7 minute walk from Casino Square. It was a comfortable hotel with a kitchenette and a balcony. We had a decent view of the sea but there was so much construction that a huge crane blocked most of the view. The room and bathroom were clean and the sheets and towels looked clean too. The bed was also comfortable.

Since most were closed, we had dinner at Au Midi Gourmanda, a local Portuguese restaurant at 10 Bd de la République, 06240 Beausoleil, France. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Between my Spanish and my poor French, we managed to understand each other. So if you are in the area I recommend you give it a try.

They think it’s a millionaire’s playground, but I’m not impressed. Other countries are stunningly beautiful, but Monaco is not. Nothing surprised me except the sea. Maybe because I’m not materialistic and I’m not interested in luxuries. However, it is a well maintained and tidy place.

I’m very intuitive and one thing I took from Monaco was energy. It wasn’t a negative energy, but it wasn’t a positive energy either. As we walked the streets of Monaco, I felt cheated and bad. As if it were a place where immoral and narrow-minded rich people gather to hide or do dirty things. The crime rate is very low in Monaco, but we didn’t like the energy. If we were rich enough to live there, we certainly wouldn’t. It’s not for us. But don’t take my word for it. Maybe you like it. And if you were in Monaco, what do you think?
