Another popular thing to do here is catch the sunrise in Haleakala National Park, but due to the popularity of this experience, you’ll need an advance ticket to gain entry. Or book a guided tour.
To be fair, it’s very foggy at this altitude anyway – I missed the sunrise on two separate occasions – so consider skipping the early run and heading in mid-morning instead.
